Ratnakar Lavu, Kohl's executive vice president of digital technology, is responsible for leading digital technology strategy and execution by creating and managing agile technology teams across all digital properties, identifying technology trends and understanding shifting social behaviors that will support the growth and success of Kohl's business.

Lavu joined Kohl's in October 2011 as senior vice president of digital innovation, overseeing the transformation of Kohl's omnichannel customer experience, focused on creating the best-in-class experience in retail across mobile, social, kiosk, Web and in-store point of sale. He was also responsible for shaping future innovations and bringing world-class solutions to Kohl's retail environment.

Prior to Kohl's, Ratnakar was the CTO at Redbox where he transformed the Redbox software and hardware platforms to be highly scalable and support the growth of the business to a billion dollar business. This platform was rolled out to every Redbox kiosk in many grocery and retail stores in the United States.

Prior to this, Ratnakar was the GVP of e-commerce at Macy's and Bloomingdale's. He started the and e-commerce team in 2000. The omnichannel platform supported the growth of the business to a billion dollar business.

Ratnakar holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
