TRACK 2: Physical Retail Goes Digital
Her previous experience includes 12 years as head of the Global Staples & Consumer Discretionary team at Citi Research, as well as senior research positions at Bear Stearns and Morgan Stanley. During that time, she gained in-depth knowledge and understanding of global retail and emerging technology trends, and was consistently ranked among the top analysts in her field by Institutional Investor, where she was ranked #1 for nine years, StarMine and Business Insider, which named her one of Wall Street's top 36 analysts in 2012. That year, she also received the Researcher Award for Outstanding Industry Service by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Ms. Weinswig is an advocate for innovation, creativity and the implementation of efficient technologies in the retail sector, and has helped US startups develop systems and strategies that have been adopted by top-tier national retailers. Focusing on game-changing technologies such as wearables, the Internet of Things (IoT), 3D printing, cyber security and predictive analytics, she examines the intersection of technology, fashion and retail to help companies drive growth in a rapidly changing environment. She is frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Barron's, and is a regular guest on CNBC.
Besides serving as a mentor to Silicon Valley and New York–based accelerators such as Alchemist Accelerator, Plug and Play, Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator and New York Fashion Tech Lab, Ms. Weinswig also sits on the advisory boards of several early-stage companies in the US and Hong Kong. She is an active board member of many industry and philanthropic organizations, including Dignity U Wear, and was recently named to the advisory boards of the World Retail Congress, the Retail Analytics Council at Northwestern University and Shoptalk, the leading conference and exhibition for next-generation commerce. Ms. Weinswig was a founding member of the Oracle Retail Strategy Council and is a member of the ICSC Research Task Force. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business is a Certified Public Accountant.
