TRACK 4: Search and Discovery

Session A: The Emergence of Visual Commerce

Ted Mann
President, Slyce
Ted Mann is the President of Slyce, the market leader in image recognition and visual search. Slyce’s technology is integrated into consumer and retail apps—including Best Buy, JC Penney, Home Depot, and Neiman Marcus—and enables users to snap a photo of a product and instantly identify it. Slyce is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and has raised more than $50 million. Mann came to Slyce via the acquisition of SnipSnap, the app business he founded that utilizes image recognition to convert paper coupon into mobile, and has grown to 5 million users on iOS and Android. Prior to SnipSnap, Mann led Digital Development at Gannett, the largest US newspaper publisher.
